A new runway for the Donetsk Airport, Ukraine

Within the national expansion program for airports in Ukraine Donetsk Airport is being extended. The main part of the extension is the new 4000 m long runway (Code 4F), a parallel taxiway as well as 4 rapid exit taxiways and two aprons of about 400'000 m2.

WAM has created the corresponding construction plans including lighting and drainage for the consortium responsible for the construction. The surface high plans have been revised completely with respect to mass optimisation.

The construction phasing has been planed under special consideration of a runway being under operation (obstacle clearance), including the required static proof. Other aspects of the job have been consulting during the construction and support in the on site supervision.
